Welcome to the Middle Georgia Railroad Association

Welcome to the Middle Georgia Railroad Association, or the MGRA. The MGRA is a non-profit organization that focuses on railroad history, modeling, and railfanning in the Middle Georgia area. Founded in 1991, the MGRA consists of railroad employees and retirees, model railroaders, history buffs, and toy train collectors. We welcome all members regardless of gender, religion, age or race. The MGRA meets on the third Monday of each month in the restored Central of Georgia Depot in Gordon, Georgia. Membership in the Association costs $20 per year. Members receive the Middle Georgia Flyer- the MGRA's monthly newsletter, invitations to all MGRA sponsored events, and most importantly, fellowship with other railroad enthusiasts.

Each month the MGRA has a presentation on a railroad related topic by a guest speaker. Programs range from modeling clinics and prototype information to historical videos and lectures. Meetings consist of news, refreshments and fellowship, followed by the main presentation of the evening. Meetings begin at 7:00pm and conclude around 9:00. Other trips are scheduled throughout the year such as visits to railroad facilities or historical locations. These trips are announced at the meetings and are listed on the schedule.
